It looks like Everline got the impression that Fargo is arguing that the Empire is just as "evil" as it's predecessors and is more than a little hurt. She doesn't realize he's arguing against the act of invasion, not the merits of the Empire itself.

Have I ever told you I really dig your art style? I think I can tell who one of your artistic influences were. :3
Matt Knab
Thanks! :D
Gosh, I've had so many influences over the years. I'm really curious as to who you are thinking of!
TheD-Wrek
I'm thinking Fred Perry and perhaps some Akira Toriyama? :)
Matt Knab
You got it! XD
Once we get into the fights, you'll see more of the DBZ influence, and...Gold Digger is actually the ONLY paper comic I still buy these days.

Let's face it, Earth will never unify. That's one thing I think we all can agree on ;D
Matt Knab
Yeah, even in this fantasy universe, it's VERY unlikely.
Proxy170
True words--you can't force unification on someone. Plenty of recent examples in our war history :/

You really have a knack for writing these complex themes and dialogues--I'll have to take note when I need to write mine in some upcoming chapters. Any advice/feedback from you would be helpful!

Thanks! I'm glad that you are enjoying the dramatic side of the story. I was afraid that the first half of Vol 23 might be a bit slow for readers, but there's a lot of development that needs to happen before the action can start.

And I'm always happy to give what tips I can as your story develops!

I don't think it's slow at all! I find this part really interesting actually. But I guess I am in the minority a bit with liking these kinds of scenes. Action is good too, but I love a comic that gets me thinking mentally and morally!
Matt Knab
Awesome! :)

Everline is really trying to convince herself that she's right. She is acting the way she looks: like a child...and a petulant one at that.
Matt Knab
She's not trying to convince herself. She firmly believes she is right and is frustrated so many are disagreeing. The condemnation isn't going to dissuade her, however.
